A Black Lives Matter group tweeted a message Thursday that Thanksgiving is a day of “colonization” on “stolen land”.
“You are eating dry turkey and overcooked stuffing on stolen land,” the post read. The graphic included in the post said “You are on stolen land. Colonization never ended, it just became normalized”.
It also provided a link to a website where viewers can “Find out which ancestral homeland” they are “currently occupying”.
Another tweet from the same organization said they were sending “deepest love to families whose loved ones were stolen by state-sanctioned violence and white-supremacy”.
They offered “a special prayer for those who will forever have an #EmptySeatAtTheTable”.
The group’s post sparked backlash from other Twitter users.
Harmeet K. Dhillon tweeted “Wait are we for undocumented immigrants or against them? Confused”.
A tweet from Benny Johnson read “How about you give up your multiple mansions, commies. Till’ then stfu”.
Rob Schmitt of Newsmax added “Your approval rating is tanking faster than Biden’s. Enjoy obscurity losers”.
Jeremy Boreing, co-founder of The Daily Wire, tweeted “You are Tweeting inane nonsense on… the exact same land”.
