10 NYC Repeat Offenders Rack Up 500 Arrests Thanks To Bail Reform

Listen To This Article Here:

Only 10 criminals were able to rack up a whopping 500 arrests around New York City, many of whom remain at large thanks to New York’s bail reform laws.

The New York Post reported, Stunning statistics compiled by the NYPD, and obtained first by The Post, show that the city’s alleged “worst of the worst” repeat offenders have been busted a total of 485 times since bail reform went into effect in 2020.

Why wouldn’t an opportunist criminal take advantage of the new lenient bail reform laws to begin their venture in crime? This is exactly what two of the thugs did. One was arrested 33 times with the other arrested 22 times.

This seems reminiscent of the 41-year-old “professional shoplifter” Michelle McKelley who was finally put behind bars for assaulting an officer after more than 100 total arrests. McKelley was also able to benefit from the big apples’ weak bail reform laws.

Mayor Eric Adams is actually taking a stand against the laws, demanding that the city crackdown on repeat offenders rather than let them continue to commit crimes in New York.

“Our criminal justice system is insane, it is dangerous, it is harmful and it’s destroying the fabric of our city.” The Mayor said.

He continued, “Time and time again, our police officers make an arrest, and then the person who is arrested for assault, felonious assaults, robberies, and gun possessions, they’re finding themselves back on the street within days– if not hours — after the arrest.”
