We mustn’t let such tragedies persist unchecked. This criminal had been caught in the act 21 times before, yet he and his accomplice showed no signs of mending their wicked ways. Why? Their disregard for rules arises from an absence of respect – respect they seldom receive. We forget that our officers, exemplars of sacrifice and courage, are the true heroes. This dismissal of their valor should not be allowed to continue.”
