Vice President-elect JD Vance has issued a stern warning to Hamas, stating that the incoming Trump administration will support Israel in decisively eliminating the terrorist organization if hostages are not released promptly.

In a recent interview, Vance emphasized that President-elect Donald Trump’s firm stance has been instrumental in advancing negotiations for the hostages’ release. He noted that Trump’s threats have instilled fear in Hamas, compelling them to consider releasing the captives. Vance stated, “It’s very clear that President Trump threatening Hamas and making it clear that there is going to be hell to pay is part of the reason why we’ve made progress on getting some hostages out.”

Vance outlined the potential consequences if Hamas fails to comply, including:

  • Empowering Israel to dismantle the remaining leadership of Hamas.
  • Implementing aggressive sanctions and financial penalties on entities supporting terrorist organizations in the Middle East.
  • Reasserting American leadership to address and neutralize threats in the region.

He remarked, “I think number one, it means enabling the Israelis to knock out the final couple of battalions of Hamas and their leadership. It means very aggressive sanctions and financial penalties on those who are supporting terrorist organizations in the Middle East.”

Negotiations, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S., are reportedly nearing a resolution. The proposed agreement involves the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, followed by a ceasefire in Gaza. Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported that the final draft of a ceasefire agreement has been presented, indicating that a deal could be imminent.

The Trump administration’s assertive approach has introduced a new dynamic to the negotiations, pressuring Hamas to comply or face severe repercussions. This development underscores the incoming administration’s commitment to supporting Israel and combating terrorism in the Middle East.
