Tucker Carlson, host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” fired back at several high-ranking military officials that took offense to a segment he did earlier in the week.
His original statement was, “So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. military. While China’s military becomes more masculine as it has assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become, as Joe Biden says, more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore since men and women no longer exist… Again, this is a mockery of the U.S. military and its core mission, which is winning wars.”
Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael Grinston, tweeted at Carlson on the day after the segment aired. He retweeted Four Star General Paul Funk echoing his support of pregnant women in war.
Pentagon Press Secretary and former United States Navy Admiral, John Kirby, said at the beginning of an off-camera press brief, “I want to be very clear right up front that the diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths. I’ve seen it for myself in long months at sea and in the combat waged by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’ve seen it up on Capitol Hill just this past month, and I see it every day here right at the Pentagon.”
Tucker’s response, “We were almost rattled. Then we realized if the woke generals treat us like they’ve treated the Taliban, we’ll be fine. Twenty years later, the Taliban are still here. Maybe we ought to promise the Pentagon that we’ll get rid of traditional gender roles on this show. Change the pronouns, defeat the patriarchy, and all that.”
