While speaking to reporters aboard his plane after appearing at a campaign rally in Waco, Texas, Trump expressed his belief that the case has already been dropped.

“It’s a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing.”

In response to Trump’s claim, his campaign spokesman Steven Cheung spoke to Fox News Digital, alleging that the case had been dropped due to the partisan nature of the investigation.

Cheung stated – “This has been dropped because everyone knows this was a partisan witch-hunt by a radical, leftist DA that sought to politically weaponize the Justice system to influence an election.”

Last week, it was reported that Alvin Bragg’s office would likely issue an indictment against Trump for alleged hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The nature of these allegations has still yet to be proven true and also District Attorney Bragg has been facing heavy pressure from Republicans since he has been been cherry picking documents and withholding evidence from the Grand Jury

In response, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee demanded that Bragg testify before Congress about the details of his investigation.

The DA’s office, however, condemned the Republicans’ request in a statement issued on Saturday, calling it an “unprecedented inquiry by federal elected officials into an ongoing matter” that could hinder and disrupt the legitimate work of their prosecutors. The office also stated that they evaluate cases based on facts, law, and evidence, and that Congress should not interfere with pending local investigations as they are “guided by the rule of law”

The Manhattan DA’s office further informed Fox News Digital that Alvin Bragg stands by his previous pledge to publicly state the conclusion of the investigation, regardless of whether they conclude their work without bringing charges or move forward with an indictment. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the outcome of the investigation will be and whether Trump will face charges for the alleged campaign finance violations.
