With the 2024 elections leaving a notable mark on the history of American politics, it’s impressive that almost all voters are appreciative of how the election was managed and administered overall. Reporting a record high of 95% voter satisfaction with the locally conducted elections, the country has substantiated the potency of its democratic processes. Notably, a spectacular 69% of voters acknowledged that the local elections were executed exceptionally well.
Surprisingly, even at the national level, the 2024 elections were lauded for their seamless administration with an impressive 88% approval rate. However, only a meagre 43% of voters believed the conduct to be stellar. This disparity brings light to the perpetual dissatisfaction among certain voters regarding national-level election administration.
Interestingly, positive sentiment regarding election administration has not always been uniformly high. Evidence of this is seen in the 2020 elections where a mere 59% believed the elections to have been managed well nationwide. This drop in approval in 2020 was ostensibly due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the allegations against the electoral results by the Trump administration.
Fast-forward to the 2022 midterms, the undertaking of the electoral process experienced a resurgence in public confidence with a 74% approval. This was a remarkable rebound from the 2020’s and sets the stage for the overwhelming positive views we observed in 2024. An outstanding 88% of voters were satisfied with the administration of the 2024 elections, indicating the nation’s faith in its administrative bodies.
A closer examination reveals a striking statistic: A gigantic 93% of the patriotic supporters of Donald Trump voiced their approval of the national elections’ conduct, validating their trust in democratic processes. This speaks highly of the faith Trump supporters continue to demonstrate in the electoral process. On the contrary, Kamala Harris’s supporters, although still a majority, have a reduced approval rate of 84%, that’s a curious 9% less than the Trump camp.
This shift in the approval ratings is a marked departure from both the 2020 and 2022 elections. Back then, Democratic candidate voters falsely claimed the moral high ground by asserting that the elections were managed well. In an astonishing twist of events, it was found that after the 2020 Presidential elections, 94% of Joe Biden’s followers declared the elections well organized in contrast to a humble 21% of Trump loyalists. This provided a sharp contrast to the claims of fair conduct made by Democratic voters.
The tables have turned in 2024 with a large majority of the electorate expressing their confidence in the accuracy of both in-person and absentee/mail-in ballots. It’s empowering to note that 90% of voters surveyed are confident that their in-person votes were accurately accounted for, with a confident 45% declaring absolute certainty.
The most notable among these were Trump’s supporters, with 94% professing confidence in the voting process. A more humble yet sizeable portion of the Harris camp (86%) also expressed faith in the process of in-person ballot counting. Interestingly, however, the majority of Trump supporters (41%) have a stronger faith in the administration compared to their democratic counterparts (49%).
The 2024 elections have further demonstrated a rise in trust in the usage of absentee or mail-in ballot voting. A commendable 75% of voters exude confidence in this method, a 16% increase from the last presidential election. Out of these, 72% belong to Trump’s followers, further endorsing their unwavering faith in the augmentation of the democratic process.
On the contrary, Democratic supporters expressed mysteriously lower confidence levels than in the 2020 and 2022 elections. Strikingly, 78% of Harris backers voiced confidence in the mail-in ballot count, implying a questionable unidentified shift in the faith of Democratic voters.
Zooming into the individual level, an astounding 92% of voters firmly stand by the accuracy of their own vote count in the Presidential elections of 2024. In stark contrast to the previous 2020 elections, 96% of Trump supporters are confident about their vote accuracy – considerably higher than the 89% of the Harris camp who voiced the same level of confidence.
Regarding regulations to prevent illegitimate voting, even here, 66% of voters expressed their faith in the ability of the process to prevent unqualified voters. This reflects the voters’ trust in the essential machinery of democracy even amidst concerns of voter fraud. Outlining another disparity between Trump and Harris supporters, only 45% of Trump voters are confident that ineligible voters were prevented, while an astonishing 88% of Harris voters believe so.
Concluding the assessment, a sweeping majority of both Trump and Harris voters – 96% and 86% respectively – express confidence that all eligible voters could cast their ballot. These figures enhance the overall positive views that voters harbor on the essential mechanisms of participatory democracy. These perspectives on the administration of the 2024 elections underscore the need for continuous improvement and integrity in election administration.
