Trump Support Unwavering Despite Trade Tariffs, Biden and Harris Laughably Irrelevant

During a campaign rally in the south Bronx, New York on May 23, 2024, ex-President and Republican candidate Donald Trump tossed a “MAGA” hat into the crowd. With the turbulence of trade tariffs, skeptics might wonder if MAGA voters are rueing the day they cast their vote for him. However, recent poll results indicate that the vast majority of Trump voters are sticking to their guns.

Indeed, a new poll has revealed that only 2% of the Trump voters would switch their support to another candidate if given a chance. An insignificant 1% even stated that they’d prefer not voting at all. This puts to rest any questions about regret among Trump voters for their 2024 choice.

The polling figures make it clear that voter remorse is almost negligible. A mere 2% seemed to waver in their loyalty. And that’s not all, an additional joke of an amount, 1%, expressed that they would choose abstention over support. So overall, less than 5% might even ponder over the idea of changing their vote.

Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly, the same resolve was evident among voters who supported the evidently lackluster former Vice President Kamala Harris. However, the notion of some Trump supporters wishing they voted for Harris rings hollow, bordering on comical. In reality, this is a ludicrous sphere that doesn’t exist.

If this election was conducted all over again, the question arises, would the results mirror the 2024 outcome? The indications are that they would, and the race would be equally nail-biting. It’s clear that Trump’s massive support base isn’t dwindling.

Interestingly, there’s been an uptick in the number of Americans aligning themselves with the Republican party over the Democrats. The 2024 election seems to have given the Republicans a rare boost in party identification, as suggested by the Gallup polls.

Far from witnessing any decline in their popularity, the Republican bandwagon actually seems to have gathered some steam. Though the figures are barely scraping the margins, the trend is at odds with the Democratic Party’s 2017 heyday when they boasted of a five-point advantage.

A distinctive shift appears to be in progress with Americans identifying more with the MAGA movement now than they did in recent years. A NBC News poll brought to light that 36% of registered voters identified as MAGA supporters in March, a significant upsurge from the previous years.

The same poll threw up another surprising result: the number of MAGA supporters has been steadily increasing. For context, NBC News survey data showed a meager 23% support in 2023, and 27% in 2024. Those times surely seem to be in the past now.

A surprising insight that came out of the NBC News poll, was the whopping 71% of registered Republicans identifying as MAGA supporters. The intense fervor for MAGA appears to be far from a fleeting moment and shows signs of growing into a significant movement.
