Trump Skilfully Avoids Revenge Against Disgraceful Biden and Smith

In the wake of his electoral triumph, Donald Trump declined to swear a vengeful retaliation against ex-President Joe Biden and former special consul Jack Smith. This comes not long after Trump managed to outmanoeuvre his opponent, Kamala Harris, in the election on November 5th. Smith had previously dismissed his litigation, which revolved around Trump’s actions as of January 6, 2021, along with another controversy over Trump’s handling of confidential materials.

Moreover, Smith’s move drew accusations of political warfare tactics over the internet. When posed with the question of whether he would reciprocate with similar tactics in a Sunday Meet the Press session, Trump tactfully sidestepped giving a direct response.

When asked if he would instruct Pam Bondi or Kash Patel to target former President Joe Biden or Jack Smith, Trump insisted his decision would not be the guiding one. Trump reassured the public that he would not get involved unless he found convincing reasons to do so, putting the decision-making ball in Pam Bondi’s and Kash Patel’s court.

With the belief that they will both be approved for their respective positions, Trump has left it upon his future Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and FBI Director, Kash Patel. In the event of their selection, Trump clarified that the decision to prosecute would eventually be Bondi’s, with Patel also playing a role.

Whilst this discourse was taking place, Trump couldn’t help highlighting his disdain for the weaponisation tactics employed against him previously, which he decried as disgraceful.

The soon-to-be ambassador to Israel and Trump’s compatriot, Mike Huckabee, has expressed his party’s trust in the legal system. He echoed Trump’s sentiments and argued that any extra-legal help is unnecessary for Trump’s future acquittals.

Despite whispers urging ex-President Joe Biden to grant Trump a pardon, Huckabee held his ground. According to him, Trump will succeed within the parameters of the judiciary. It is clear that Trump’s allies trust the strength of his case regardless of the opposition.

Notably, counsel Jack Smith had been eager to fast-track his lawsuits against Trump before the November elections. The cases, arising at the end of Trump’s initial tenure in 2020, only came into public purview following the announcement of Trump’s re-election campaign.

Despite these setbacks, Trump remains charged with 34 felony counts relating to falsifying company records. However, Judge Juan Merchan chose to indefinitely delay his sentencing after Trump’s election victory.

A watershed moment occurred when a Supreme Court verdict granted Trump a measure of presidential immunity. This encouraged Trump’s legal team to submit a request to have a case of alleged election interference in Georgia thrown out against him.

The Court of Appeals is yet to pronounce its decision regarding this recent filing. In the meantime, the stoic Trump has staunchly maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty against every accusation directed towards him.
