President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing the dismantling of Voice of America (VOA), a taxpayer-funded media outlet long accused of left-wing bias and anti-American propaganda. The move comes as part of the administration’s broader effort to eliminate wasteful government spending and ensure public funds are not used to promote political narratives that undermine U.S. values.

“Voice of America has been out of step with America for years,” a senior White House official stated. “It serves as the Voice for Radical America and has pushed divisive propaganda instead of representing the interests of the American people.”

VOA operates under the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which also oversees other federally funded media organizations such as Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Radio Free Asia. With the order in place, more than 1,300 journalists and staff have been placed on indefinite administrative leave, effectively shutting down VOA’s operations.

Supporters of the decision argue that government-run media has no place in a free society, especially when taxpayer dollars are funding left-leaning narratives that fail to represent the broader American public. “The American people should not be forced to bankroll a media outlet that has strayed from its original mission and become a megaphone for the Left,” said one administration official.

Critics, including some within the foreign policy establishment, claim the move could weaken America’s ability to counter foreign propaganda. However, Trump’s allies argue that eliminating VOA’s bloated bureaucracy will not diminish America’s voice on the world stage but rather ensure that media messaging aligns with the nation’s interests, rather than globalist agendas.

The executive order also disrupts the operations of other state-funded media organizations that have long been criticized for inefficiency and political bias. The restructuring is expected to save millions in taxpayer dollars while ensuring that public funds are used more effectively to support policies that serve the American people, not entrenched bureaucrats or partisan activists.

With the dismantling of VOA, the Trump administration has taken another decisive step toward draining the swamp and putting America First, ensuring that taxpayer-funded media reflects the values and priorities of the country rather than catering to left-wing ideology.
