In a decisive move to restore biological standards across federal agencies, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has officially announced it will recognize only **two sexes—male and female—**on all immigration-related documents and forms.

The policy shift follows President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at eliminating gender ideology from federal governance and reinforcing biological reality in public policy.

Back to Basics: Biology Over Ideology

Effective immediately, all USCIS forms—including green cards, work permits, and naturalization certificates—will require applicants to select either male or female. The previously introduced third option, “X” for non-binary, has been scrapped.

According to the new directive, sex will now be determined by an individual’s birth certificate, issued at or near the time of birth. If an applicant’s chosen designation differs from that record, the birth certificate will take precedence.

This change applies to all applicants regardless of personal identification preferences or gender identity claims. The agency is also replacing the term “gender” with “sex” throughout its policy manual and removing references to gender identity entirely.

Trump Admin Delivers on Promise of Common Sense

Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Immigration Policy, defended the move by stating:
“There are only two sexes—male and female. President Trump promised a revolution of common sense, and that includes rooting out radical gender ideology from our institutions.”

The shift at USCIS is part of a broader effort under Trump’s second term to align all federal agencies with scientific reality and traditional American values, starting with documents and identification that affect national security, legal status, and immigration enforcement.

Critics Cry Foul, But Americans Support the Change

While far-left advocacy groups have already begun protesting the decision, citing concerns for non-binary and transgender applicants, polling consistently shows that a majority of Americans support policies that rely on objective biological standards—especially when it comes to government documents and law enforcement.

The change is also expected to improve vetting accuracy, reduce fraud, and restore clarity in immigration processing, which had grown increasingly convoluted under the previous administration’s embrace of gender fluidity in federal records.

A Step Toward Federal Consistency

With this announcement, USCIS becomes the latest agency to fall in line with Trump’s broader executive order mandating that all branches of the federal government recognize only biological sex, not self-declared gender identity. The policy marks a turning point in the federal government’s approach to sex-based classification—one that prioritizes truth, safety, and legal consistency over ideology.

In the words of President Trump: “We are restoring reality to government—and protecting the integrity of American law.”
