In a tragic act of violence, a single life was claimed at a warehouse shooting in the southwestern area of Miami-Dade, leaving another person injured and the shooter critically wounded. The event took place at a business complex set within the 7300 stretch of Southwest 45th Street, within close range of the well-known Palmetto Expressway and Bird Road. The violence erupted just after the noonday hour on a seemingly normal Thursday.
Various law enforcement departments were dispatched to the scene, including special response units from the Miami-Dade Police Department. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol also joined in handling the crisis. The investigation that unfolded revealed the incident was spurred on by an unresolved familial disagreement.
The reported shooter was embroiled in an ongoing feud within his family, which boiled over into the violent confrontation at the warehouse. During the fateful altercation, the person targeted and shot two individuals. Upon the authorities’ arrival on site, a gun battle ensued between the armed individual and the deputies.
The violent event was not arbitrary; it was deeply rooted in personal and family issues. The shooter specifically sought out his half-brother at this location, intending to confront him. Despite the tragic outcome, a further escalation of the situation was prevented, thankfully sparing any additional innocent victims.

In an unfortunate turn, the shooter was injured during the exchange with deputies and is currently in a critical condition. One of the victims, Eddie Rivero, aged 38, was identified by a family friend. Rivero was rushed into surgery on Thursday afternoon, but his injuries proved fatal.
Rivero was the proprietor of Price Right Motors, the used car facility where the tragic incident took place. The family friend also disclosed that the person behind the shooting was none other than Rivero’s half-brother. Details about the second shooting victim haven’t yet been released, but they’re in a stable condition.
A man claiming to be Rivero’s brother arrived at the hospital, visibly distressed. He confirmed that Rivero had indeed fallen prey to the aggressive act of his half-brother. Law enforcement officials insisted that although tragic, the incident was isolated to a domestic conflict rather than an indiscriminate act of violence.
On-site coverage revealed extensive law enforcement mobilization in and around the warehouse. Witness accounts describe bystanders being led away from the scene with hands raised, while others were searched and interrogated by officers. A witness stated he was guided to safety after hearing gunshots.
The law enforcement officers emphasized the containment of the situation. They assured the public that there’s no immediate danger following the incident. Meanwhile, investigations within the active crime scene are ongoing.
At the scene, investigators came across a long rifle and a handgun. Consistent with procedures following a shooting involving a deputy, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement took up an independent inquiry into the incident. Bird Road, initially blocked off following the incident, has since been reopened to regular traffic.
Even on Friday morning, investigative activities were still present at the warehouse. Early in the morning, around 5:30 a.m., several damaged vehicles, including five cars with broken windshields and a scooter, were removed from the scene. Forensic markers indicating potential bullet impacts or traces were also apparent.
