Hope Walz, daughter of Democrat Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has ignited a firestorm after posting a TikTok video in which she bizarrely claimed that President Donald Trump would have deported Jesus Christ and labeled Him a member of the violent MS-13 gang.

The viral video, which has since drawn backlash from conservatives and Christians across the country, was part of a political rant that attempted to link Trump’s strong border enforcement policies to a fictionalized persecution of biblical proportions.

“If Jesus were alive today and in the United States,” Hope said in the video, “this administration would already have taken him and removed him from this country without due process, claimed he was a member of the MS-13 gang.” She then accused those who support the Trump administration of lacking empathy and humanity.

The comments appear to be a reference to the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national removed under President Trump’s administration after being identified as an MS-13 gang member. According to Department of Homeland Security records and immigration judges, Garcia had ties to human trafficking and was the subject of a restraining order filed by his wife due to alleged domestic violence. Despite this, far-left activists and some Democrat lawmakers have tried to portray Garcia as a victim of Trump-era immigration policy.

Hope Walz’s rhetoric drew immediate condemnation, with many blasting the comments as both ignorant and offensive. Critics pointed out the absurdity of comparing Jesus Christ—revered by billions around the world as the sinless Son of God—with a known gang-affiliated criminal suspected of abusing women and engaging in illicit trafficking operations.

“This is what happens when the children of Democrat politicians are raised in a bubble of left-wing propaganda,” one conservative commentator remarked. “It’s one thing to oppose border security, but to weaponize faith and equate Jesus with an MS-13 thug is disgraceful.”

Governor Tim Walz has not publicly addressed his daughter’s remarks, but the incident has further fueled criticism of his administration’s soft-on-crime and open-border policies. Minnesota, under Walz, has seen rising tensions over illegal immigration and growing frustration among residents concerned with public safety.

President Trump’s policies—such as Title 42 enforcement, border wall construction, and deportation of violent criminal aliens—were designed to protect American communities and restore law and order. Yet those efforts continue to be distorted by the far left, who often downplay the very real threat posed by transnational gangs like MS-13.

As the 2024 campaign season heats up, statements like these from Democrat family members and surrogates will likely serve as a stark reminder of just how far removed the radical left has become from reality—and from the values most Americans still hold dear.
