In the tranquil neighborhood of Summerfield, Florida, a revered figure of the town, Jane Murauskas, at the age of 77, took her leave from this world on January 12, 2025. Her death was peaceful; she was surrounded by those she held dear, at Cornerstone Hospice. This followed a brief, unexpected period of illness. The date of her birth, etched in the annals of her family’s history, was July 13, 1947. Born in Ballston Spa, New York, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Virginia Hoyt.
In 1965, Jane completed her years of schooling at Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. Her stellar academic record was a testament to her dedication and perseverance. Soon after graduating, her path crossed with Norman Murauskas, a gentleman of equal dedication and charm. They chose to intertwine their destinies in the romantic season of Fall, in 1968.
It is Norman Murauskas, her spouse of many loving years, who now mourns her passing along with their children. They were blessed with a son, Norman Murauskas (Kimberly) of Ballston Spa, New York. In addition, their daughter, Jennifer (Kenneth) Walker, from Clifton Park, New York, also grieves for the loss of her mother.
The legacy of Jane’s love continues through her grandchildren Rachel Sloan, Maxwell Murauskas, Ryan Walker, and Kasey Walker. Their grandmother’s fond memory will always be etched in their hearts. Jane’s family circle also extends to her sisters, Marlene Deal, Carolyn Wescott, and brother, Richard (Patricia) Hoyt. Her nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends also feel the void left by her departure.
Jane’s life was a portrait of love. She embodied kindness, always going out of her way to help the people around her. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother were roles she cherished the most. Her family was her world, and she was the heart of her family.
With a fondness for the outdoors, Jane had a special place in her heart for flora. She found satisfaction in tilling the earth and watching her plants bloom. The sight of blossoming flowers brought a sparkle to her eye. Jane’s love for warm weather was reflected in her radiant personality.
Brimming with intrepidness, one of Jane’s unique hobbies involved climbing lighthouses. The views from atop these towers fulfilled her passion for novel experiences. Inspiring awe with their grandeur, east coast beaches were also among her favored destinations. She relished taking long strolls along the shore.
Her cherishable pastime was to search the beach meticulously for shark teeth. This quirky enthusiasm was something she passed on to her grandkids. The teeth were tokens of her intrepid encounters with nature; they were also a manifestation of her adventurous spirit.
Jane was an integral part of the banking industry, where she dedicated her professional years. With her meticulous attention to detail, she held the position of a bookkeeper. She was respected among her peers for her integrity and commitment to her work.
Throughout her life, Jane lived by an uplifting motto—’dream, believe, and achieve.’ Inspired by these words, she accomplished many significant milestones in her life. It not only motivated her but also instilled confidence in those around her.
In honoring Jane’s memory, a memorial service will be held, allowing family and friends to gather and pay their respects. On Saturday, April 26, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Armer Funeral Home at 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa, New York, will host the event. This ceremony will create a space for loved ones to share their memories and say their goodbyes.
Any memorial contributions in Jane’s honor should not be made in the form of flowers. Instead, they are suggested to be made to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation. The foundation offers a convenient system, their official website, to make contributions ‘In Memory of Jane Murauskas.’
