Texas Case Rate At Lowest Since June After Reopening

On March 2nd Texas governor Greg Abbott revoked the states mask mandate. He followed by fully opening his state on the 10th.

As Abbott committed to reopening his state, democratic politicians blasted him, claiming that cases and fatalities would skyrocket.

Now, three weeks later the states COVID 19 positivity rate, has plummeted dramatically. Their case rate is currently lower than it has been since June of 2020. 

Hospitalization are also down. Texas reported 3.104 COVID 19 patients as of Saturday. This number is lowest number of hospitalizations since September. 

To top it all off, Texas has experienced a drop in COVID fatalities. These numbers are at the lowest they have been since November. 

Mississippi also began loosening restrictions around the same time, and the data mirrors. Mississippi has also seen a drop in case rate.
