Supreme Court To Shut Down Affirmative Action

The Supreme Court might finally be preparing to end affirmative action once and for all. The court has agreed to hear two cases seeking to end the nefarious admission tactic. Clarence Thomas, the only black justice specifically has indicated a distaste for Affirmative action.

Affirmative action programs are intended to provide a better chance at things like college admission to allegedly disadvantaged groups. Most often these programs revolve around the race of applicants.

Ironically, affirmative action does nothing more than shift the disadvantage to other racial demographics. Asians undoubtedly experience the largest consequence.

A 2015 study found that if race was not a consideration on college applications and affirmative action was eliminated, the acceptance rate for Asian applicants would be 6 points higher. Asians are plagued with the largest bias on applications because their racial group is the highest earning demographic in America.

In 2019 the median household income for Asians was $98,174 while median income for whites was $76,057 and $42,684 for bock Americans. Their substantially larger income is a testament to the people who belong to the demographic, but it isn’t higher because the system America operates under favors them, it’s higher because Asians in a general sense have a different culture than other races.

Asians prioritize education and academia on average more than, for example white Americans. The different cultures that exist within America also produce different interests particularly in profession.
