Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz is calling for the House to launch an impeachment inquiry against President Biden. This comes after an IRS whistleblower in the Hunter Biden investigation testified before Congress.
The whistleblower claimed that Hunter Biden, using WhatsApp, referenced his father to pressure a Chinese business partner and that the elder Biden was even present during some of these deals. When asked at what point the investigations around Hunter Biden become an issue that could lead to impeachment, Cruz responded, ‘It is right now.’
Cruz continued, ‘This newfound evidence is direct proof that Joe Biden is using his government power to benefit his son and, I believe, enrich himself.
This WhatsApp message reads, ‘we want to know.” This whole issue goes beyond a ‘mooching off my dad’ scenario. The House must take action, but the real shocker is what the IRS whistleblower revealed, the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland prevented an investigation into the message.
There have been accusations about unprecedented efforts to prevent investigations against Joe Biden during the 2020 campaign and throughout his presidency. The whistleblower, Gary Shapley Jr., revealed that he oversaw the IRS probe involving Hunter Biden. He stated that the IRS obtained a WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to the CEO of Harvest Fund Management, Henry Zhao, dating back to 2017. Hunter named his father and invoked him to pressure Zhao to follow through with their commitment.
Cruz interjected, ‘This link between Joe Biden and millions of dollars from communist China is irrefutable. I understand there might be doubts about Hunter’s claims, but the whistleblower alleges that they could not investigate or ask a single question about it. This, to me, screams obstruction of justice. If Merrick Garland did block the investigation, then he should be held accountable and ordered to testify under oath.’
Cruz, who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee since 2013, continued to call for Merrick Garland to testify regarding these events. He believes that if Democrats were true to their claims of supporting the rule of law, a Senate hearing would already be in session. Cruz wants every communication between DOJ, Hunter, and Zhao to be presented and insists that the IRS whistleblowers to testify under oath.
He then expressed his doubts that the Senate Judiciary Committee would take action, stating ‘No Senate Democrat cares, but the House does, so that is the only hope for investigating this.’ If the allegations stemming from the WhatsApp message are valid, then they directly contradict President Biden’s repeated claims that he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.
National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby was asked by a reporter whether the WhatsApp message weakens the President’s stance. Kirby replied, ‘No, and I’m not going to comment any further on this.’ Cruz believes that the WhatsApp message and the subsequent claims of obstruction of justice deserves a proper investigation.
A statement from Hunter Biden’s attorney declared, ‘Anything Hunter did or said during his darkest moments of addiction were his own and not connected to his father or anyone else in his family.’ White House Counsel’s Office spokesman Ian Sams emphasized that the Justice Department made their decision to investigate independently and that the White House had not been involved in any of those decisions.
Sams said, ‘As the President has said, he loves his son and is proud of him accepting responsibility for his actions and is proud of what he is doing to rebuild his life. The White House and President Biden were not in business with Hunter.’ Cruz hopes that this new information will serve as a catalyst for the House to investigate these allegations and hold the Biden administration accountable.
The Democrats’ ineffective efforts to hold Biden accountable demonstrate their bias towards President Biden and their reluctance to investigate the actions of his son, Hunter. Conservatives who value justice and accountability can only hope this changes.
The Hunter Biden probe has been a topic of interest ever since it was first brought into light before the presidential election. There have been efforts to investigate Biden’s business dealings but have largely been stymied by Democrats. Conservative voters want to see equal justice under the law as well as a thorough investigation to ensure accountability for any unlawful acts committed.

Many believe that the lack of investigation stems from former Vice President Joe Biden’s ties to the Democratic Party and reflect the ongoing political games that are being played.

While some Democrats have dismissed these allegations as unsubstantiated, there is mounting evidence indicating that the Biden administration has failed to adequately address them. The allegations of abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and other illegal activities need to be fully investigated.
The American people deserve transparency and accountability from those seeking elected office. When an elected official is accused of wrongdoing, they must be held responsible for their actions, regardless of their political affiliation.
The Republican Party is committed to fighting for justice and transparency in government, this includes investigating crimes committed by Democrats. The Hunter Biden scandal is just one example of why this is so important.
