The U.S. Senate has confirmed former Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation in President Donald Trump’s administration. The confirmation vote was 77-22, with bipartisan support.

Duffy, who served in Congress from 2011 to 2019, has a background in law and media, including a tenure as a co-host on Fox Business Network. During his confirmation hearing, he emphasized priorities such as streamlining infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient use of taxpayer funds, and enhancing travel safety.

He also highlighted the importance of addressing transportation challenges in rural areas, noting that his first trip as secretary would be to regions affected by infrastructure damage from natural disasters.

Duffy’s confirmation follows that of other key cabinet members, including Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense.

As he assumes leadership of the Department of Transportation, Duffy will oversee a substantial budget and workforce, with a focus on implementing infrastructure improvements and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the nation’s transportation systems.
