Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democratic presidential primary candidate and nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, has reiterated his belief in a long-standing conspiracy involving the CIA’s role in his uncle’s assassination. During an appearance on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, Kennedy referred to the alleged cover-up as a ’60-year deception’ and presented what he considers to be convincing evidence implicating the intelligence agency.
With the memory of his father, Bobby Kennedy’s own assassination in 1968 by Sirhan Sirhan, the younger Kennedy spoke passionately about the CIA’s involvement in the JFK murder plot. According to Kennedy Jr., millions of pages of documents, transcripts, and recorded conversations from the Cuban embassy in Mexico City provide strong evidence of the CIA’s hand in the 1963 assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald.
Kennedy Jr. noted that one of the leaders of the Warren Commission, which investigated JFK’s assassination, was former CIA Director Allen Dulles. Interestingly, Dulles had been fired by JFK and was also the brother of then-Secretary of State John Foster Dulles. Kennedy contends that Allen Dulles manipulated the Warren Commission and purposely withheld crucial evidence from its members.
Here is a picture of me with my uncle, whose wisdom affected me profoundly. Today, these words of his are especially relevant: “A nation that is afraid to let its people judge truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” pic.twitter.com/Kj1VM01xbB

Furthermore, Kennedy Jr. claimed that when Congress investigated JFK’s assassination a decade later, they had access to far more evidence than the Warren Commission. As a result, Congress concluded that the assassination was indeed a plot and a conspiracy involving multiple individuals. According to Kennedy, most of the investigators believed that the CIA was behind the plot, as the evidence overwhelmingly pointed in that direction.
Recalling a poignant moment, Kennedy Jr. shared his memory of being in the White House East Room while his uncle’s body lay in repose. He was accompanied by his father, Bobby, as well as his aunt Jacqueline and his mother, Ethel. At that moment, President Lyndon Johnson entered the room to inform them that Jack Ruby had just killed Lee Harvey Oswald.
Kennedy Jr. remembered asking his mother why Ruby had killed Oswald, wondering if it was out of love for their family. He acknowledged that the question remains unanswered to this day – what was Jack Ruby’s true motive for being there?
Kennedy Jr. stated that his father, who was Attorney General at the time, had investigated Jack Ruby and discovered alleged connections to the mob. Furthermore, he disclosed that one such mob leader had been ‘recruited by the CIA in a plot to murder [Fidel] Castro,’ suggesting that this group was working in collusion with the CIA.
In the aftermath of the JFK assassination, Kennedy Jr. revealed that his father had immediately called a CIA desk officer in Langley, Virginia, and asked, ‘Did your people do this?’ Bobby Kennedy also contacted then-CIA Director John McCone, posing the same question to him. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. affirmed, ‘It was my father’s first instinct that the agency had killed his brother.’
Despite these accusations, the CIA has consistently denied any involvement in JFK’s assassination. In the conversation, Hannity shifted focus to the upcoming 2024 presidential race, asking Kennedy Jr. to evaluate President Biden’s cognitive abilities given his frequent gaffes and lapses.
Kennedy Jr. responded that he did not have enough information to make an empirical assessment and opted to leave such evaluations up to others. However, he emphasized that his campaign was motivated by his opposition to Biden’s policies and the manner in which he is governing the country.
One particular issue mentioned by Kennedy Jr. was Biden’s handling of the ongoing war in Ukraine, which he believes should have been resolved long ago. Kennedy also emphasized the staggering $130 billion sum that overshadows the budgets of the EPA, CDC, and numerous other agencies combined. Suggesting that some of that money could be better spent domestically, he cited the fact that 57% of Americans would be unable to cope with a sudden $1,000 expense or hardship.
During the interview, Sean Hannity pointed out several aspects of Kennedy’s political platform that might appeal to Republicans and conservatives. These include securing the Mexican border, questioning the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, and scrutinizing the US response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Kennedy Jr. also discussed being heavily censored on social media platforms, including Instagram, after sharing his own analysis of vaccine studies on primates. He claimed that Pfizer and Moderna had not studied whether their vaccines would prevent transmission because they ‘already knew from the animals that it would not.’
Kennedy Jr. accused the pharmaceutical companies of deceiving the American public by promoting false claims about their COVID-19 vaccines. He asserted that they had lied by claiming that receiving the vaccine would not lead to contracting COVID-19 or spreading the virus to others.
Finally, echoing sentiments expressed by many Republicans, Kennedy Jr. voiced his opposition to the participation of biological males in female sports, another policy stance that might resonate with conservative voters.
