According to the New York Post, Andrew agreed that Giuffre has suffered as an “established” victim of sexual abuse, but did not self-incriminate.

Giuffre’s suit against the Royal alleged that he sexually abused her three times. Once in London as a teen, once in New York, and once in the US Virgin Islands.

“Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks,” the letter read.

It’s possible that Prince Andrew settled in order to avoid having guilt proven during a civil suit, but it is also possible that Andrew desired to spare himself the possibility of other, embarrassing material being released to the public.

“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others,” the letter continued.

As per the settlement, Prince Andrew is to make a “substantial” donation to Giuffre’s charity which is dedicated to supporting survivors of sex trafficking.

“He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims,” the letter said.
