President Biden stirred up social media on Wednesday evening when a pool report revealed that he recounted the “same story” at a fundraiser in strikingly similar terms, with minor variations. After taking a moment to highlight his economic achievements, the President reflected on his decision to run for the presidency.
He shared the story about the events of Charlottesville in 2017, citing them as the impetus for his campaign. Interestingly, a short while later, he recited the story again, using nearly identical words.
The reaction to this incident on social media was instant, with various users interpreting it as an indication of the President’s age becoming a concern.
Age-related critiques have been raised by individuals across the political spectrum ever since he assumed office.
While some prominent Democrats, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, have brushed aside concerns about President Biden’s age, many within the Democratic party have expressed reservations as his occasional lapses receive widespread attention online.
A recent poll conducted by Associated Press-NORC revealed that a significant majority (77%) of Americans believe that Biden is too old to serve a second term. Interestingly, while an unsurprising 89% of Republicans share this sentiment, a surprising 69% of Democrats also share concerns about the President’s age, according to the same poll.
Joe Scarborough of MSNBC openly admitted that virtually every discussion he has had with Democrats and other political figures has included anxiety over Biden’s age. He noted that this sentiment is pervasive and consistently brought up in conversations concerning the President.
Scarborough even mentioned seeking Reverend Al Sharpton’s thoughts on the matter, and it appears that Sharpton, too, has been hearing similar concerns from others. Democrat Mika Brzezinski, co-host of “Morning Joe,” went viral after criticizing the Secret Service and Biden’s aides for not being more attentive to him when he stumbled on stage or appeared disoriented after speaking at events.
Brzezinski’s point was that given his age, the President’s handlers should take extra precautions to ensure his safety and image.
When faced with questioning about his age from reporters, Biden has consistently responded by urging voters to “watch me.” In a candid manner, he expressed his respect for destiny and assured the American people that he would be completely forthcoming if there were any health issues preventing him from fulfilling his duties.
The President emphasized the importance of observing his actions and decisions, placing trust in his ability to govern effectively. However, the White House has not provided any comment regarding these concerns when approached by Fox News Digital.
