Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has been bashed online just after her visit to Taiwan after stating that she has a ‘connection to China’ due to a childhood memory.
“When I was a little girl, I was told at the beach if I dug a hole deep enough, we would reach China, so we’ve always felt a connection there,” Pelosi said.
It’s a wonder why any politician would ever say this. It’s likely that most kids were told that digging straight down would result in a tunnel to China in an effort to illustrate that the Asian nation is on the other side of the planet.
This likely didn’t build any special connection between the child and China, and why would it? It’s no different than any other wife’s tale.
Pelosi made the comment during her trip to Asia, and really, it just seems like she’s trying to kiss up to the war-faring nation.
