After a bombshell report from New York’s Attorney General Letitia James, high ranking Democrat officials call on Andrew Cuomo to resign.
The 165 page report alleged that the New York Governor assaulted at least 11 women between 2013 and 2020.
Among those calling for his resignation are Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer.
Last spring when asked, Nancy Pelosi declined to comment on whether or not Cuomo should resign.
“Recognizing his love of New York and the respect for the office he holds, I call upon the Governor to resign,” the speaker said. Odd that she would say anything positive about a man in the hot chair for sexual misconduct.
To the surprise of many, even President Joe Biden has called for the governors resignation. Biden told reporters “he should resign.”
Perhaps Democrats are hoping to avoid one of their own being impeached. Though it’s unlikely that Cuomo will be so willing to give up his power.
Biden also said, “I understand the state legislature may decide to impeach, I do not know that for a fact.”
Resignation would be less scandalous than an impeachment.
