NFL Draft 2025: Miami Dolphins Eye a Guard

Mark your calendars as the next NFL Draft is scheduled from Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26, in 2025 at Green Bay, Wisconsin. Miami Dolphins’ passionate supporters have expressed a clear preference for a guard as the 13th overall choice. Although the Dolphins are open-minded regarding selecting a quarterback in the upcoming draft, they are unlikely to land either Cam Ward from Miami or Shadeur Sanders out of Colorado.

Among the picks for the Dolphins in the Draft, they own the 13th choice in the first round and the 48th overall pick in the second round. In addition to these, they also have a forecasted compensatory selection towards the conclusion of the third round. Chris Grier, the general manager for the Dolphins, recognizes the necessity of fortifying the offensive line with multiple picks, with particular focus on guards, to bolster the team for coach Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa, their quarterback.

There’s a significant chance that at least three college tackles will be perceived by some as prospected guards when they step onto the NFL playing field. Such players, if drafted, could serve as massive game-changers for the Dolphins. Acknowledging their need for players in the safety position and on the defensive tackle lineup, along with additional reserve quarterbacks, plus defensive ends, tight ends and potentially wide receivers, the Dolphins are poised to make significant moves.

In the scenario where they decide to swap their star player, Tyreek Hill, the necessity for a wide receiver could become crucial. Looking back at Joe Schad’s initial mock draft, the chosen player was Kelvin Banks, an OT/G from Texas. However, the dynamics of the draft have seen remarkable shifts over a period of merely two weeks, and now we’re faced with a completely altered picture embodied in the new mock draft 2.0.

Here are the beginning picks for the Draft 2.0: The Tennessee Titans have their eyes on Travis Hunter, a Cornerback/Wide Receiver from Colorado for the first pick. Following them, the Cleveland Browns are planning to draft Cam Ward, a quarterback from Miami. The third pick is slated for the New York Giants, who are likely to go with Colorado’s quarterback, Shedeur Sanders.

Moving forward, the New England Patriots have their sights set on Abdul Carter, an Edge from Penn State. Wisconsin’s Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be interested in Will Johnson, a cornerback from Michigan. For the sixth pick, the Las Vegas Raiders are contemplating Ashton Jeanty, a running back from Boise State.

The New York Jets, with their seventh pick, anticipate choosing Malaki Starks, a safety from Georgia. Next up, the Carolina Panthers, who aim for Tetairoa McMillan, a wide receiver from Arizona. Mason Graham, a defensive lineman from Michigan, is on the New Orleans Saints’ radar.

For the tenth pick in the draft, the Chicago Bears are considering Kelvin Banks, a Tackle/Guard from Texas. The San Francisco 49ers intend to go for Josh Simmons, an offensive tackle from Ohio State with their eleventh pick. Will Campbell, another Tackle/Guard, from LSU, might be the selection for the Dallas Cowboys with their twelfth pick.

As for the Miami Dolphins, with their 13th pick, they are planning to select Tyler Warren, a tight end from Penn State. The Indianapolis Colts prospect for their fourteenth pick is Jalon Walker, an Edge from Georgia. The Atlanta Falcons eye James Pearce Jr., an Edge from Tennessee as their fifteenth pick.

Tyleik Williams, a defensive tackle from Ohio State, could be the sixteenth pick for the Arizona Cardinals. Luther Burden, a wide receiver from Missouri, has caught the Cincinnati Bengals’ eye for the seventeenth pick. The Seattle Seahawks are considering Mike Green, an Edge from Marshall, for the eighteenth pick.

As for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they’re eyeing Benjamin Morrison, a cornerback from Notre Dame, for their nineteenth pick. The Denver Broncos may go for Emeka Egbuka, a wide receiver from Ohio State for the twentieth pick. Mykel Williams, an Edge from Georgia, seems to be the preferred choice for the Pittsburgh Steelers with their twenty-first pick.

The twenty-second pick belongs to the Los Angeles Chargers who hope to draft Shemar Stewart, a defensive liner from Texas A&M. Jack Sawyer, an Edge from Ohio State, is eyed by the Green Bay Packers for the twenty-third pick followed by the Minnesota Vikings who are considering Walter Nolen, a defensive tackle from Mississippi with their twenty-fourth pick.
