New York Voting Laws Inspired Georgia

Georgia has been under fire for their new election laws. Specifically one that prohibits people from handing out food or water to voters waiting in line.

Joe Biden, the President of The United States proclaimed “This makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle.” Insinuating that this law is somehow worse than the set of laws that separated black Americans from White Americans prior to the 1960’s.

According to a Georgia state Senator, Mike Dugan  the law didn’t just come out of the blue, it was actually modelled after pre-existing New York State Law.

The daily caller wrote: “New York’s state election law prohibits non-election officials from giving “any meat, drink, tobacco, refreshment or provision to or for any person,” unless the gift in question has a retail value of less than one dollar.”

This law has been paraded as racist. In reality people if color are no more likely to become parched while waiting in line than a white person. All races are effected equally.

In response, many corporations are bashing Georgia or outright boycotting. The Major League Baseball has decided to move the 2021 all star game out of Atlanta. The MLB headquarters remains in New York where these laws originated.

It becomes very interesting when those who claim that Georgia’s voting laws are racist, are also supporting COVID vaccine passports. They stand against voter ID laws and dub them discriminatory while forcing new age ID laws.
