Former President Donald Trump received a significant endorsement over the weekend from several prominent Muslim leaders in Michigan—a critical battleground state in the upcoming election. During a campaign rally in Novi on Saturday, Trump introduced a group of respected Imams and Muslim community leaders who publicly expressed their support for his 2024 bid for the White House, emphasizing his strong stance on peace and national security.

“I’m thrilled to accept the endorsement of these highly respected leaders,” Trump told the enthusiastic crowd. “These are people who want peace, who want America safe, and who believe in a strong leader for a stronger nation.”

Among the endorsers was Imam Belal Alzuhairi, who passionately explained the group’s reasons for supporting Trump: “We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war.” Alzuhairi noted Trump’s commitment to ending foreign wars and ensuring stability at home, highlighting Trump’s pledge to curb bloodshed in the Middle East and end the Ukraine conflict.

The rally also saw the backing of Mayor Bill Bazzi of Dearborn Heights, Michigan’s first Muslim and Arab American elected mayor, who added, “We’re going to stop the wars, we’re going to make the United States safe again, and we’re going to make the world safe.”

These endorsements follow the support from Amer Ghalib, the mayor of Hamtramck—a Detroit-area city with a significant Muslim population. In a Facebook post, Ghalib declared Trump to be the right choice for the country, citing his leadership as essential during “this critical time.” Ghalib’s endorsement comes on the heels of a private meeting with Trump in Flint, where they discussed key issues affecting Muslim and Arab American communities.

Trump expressed gratitude for these endorsements, emphasizing his dedication to a peaceful, secure future for all Americans. “These are great people, and it’s an honor to have their trust and support as we fight to keep America safe, strong, and free,” he said.
