Noted media analyst, Megyn Kelly, has strongly criticized the general press for seemingly overlooking a recent story concerning allegations against Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris. Mr. Emhoff is accused of hitting a woman he was once romantically involved with on suspicion of her infidelity. ‘Let’s face it, marital difficulties are part of life, and people often err in judgement when stuck in loveless relationships’, Kelly asserted. Yet, she enstressed, ‘Engaging in a romantic liaison with one’s au pair and fathering her child is indeed an exceptional transgression.’

‘Had he demonstrated remorse and accepted the consequences of his actions privately, it might have never been a topic for public discourse,’ Kelly added. But she disparaged the way Emhoff was publicly portrayed afterwards as the epitome of a doting husband and the standard for ideal masculinity. ‘This notion that he should be a role model for our children is ludicrous’, she said. ‘To put it plainly, I’d prefer my boys to emulate my husband, who has not betrayed my trust nor fathered a child outside our marriage.’

Kelly sharply criticized the alleged hypocrisy of the media narrative surrounding Emhoff. ‘It’s absurd to even attempt to sell us this baseless fiction’, she said. Showing a clip featuring ex-Biden-Harris official and now MSNBC presenter Jen Psaki, Kelly highlighted a recent interview with Emhoff where he was heralded for ‘redefining the notion of masculinity.’ With a note of irony, she then referred to a story published this week in the Daily Mail detailing the allegations against Emhoff.

During her presentation, Kelly reviewed the allegations against Emhoff and the claims that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, ‘Jane’. ‘He reportedly struck his former lover in the face, either by slapping or hitting her’, Kelly remarked. ‘So we’re asked to believe that this paragon who’s supposedly setting a new bar for non-toxic masculinity physically assaulted a woman he was dating before he met Kamala. That’s what the Daily Mail is reporting.’

According to the Daily Mail, Emhoff has remained notably silent about the allegations, failing to provide any commentary or even a simple denial. Kelly reflected on this: ‘What should we make of this? Where’s the denial we would expect in response to such serious allegations? Perhaps a rebuttal is being crafted, but so far, it’s just one set of accusations. Regardless, I would urge everyone to read the report published by the Daily Mail.’

‘The article presents a detailed account with substantial testimony from several acquaintances of the successful attorney the victim was dating at the time’, Kelly expanded. She emphasized that the victim’s friends approached the Daily Mail with documents and detailed recollections about the phone call the alleged victim made to them after Emhoff struck her in public. This supposedly transpired in front of several witnesses, including local valets in Cannes, France.

Kelly ended her talk pondering on whether Jen Psaki was aware of the allegations when she conducted the interview with Emhoff. ‘I can’t help but wonder if Psaki knew about these accusations when she sat down with him,’ Kelly questioned. ‘Sincere apology is owed if the opposite was the case, but if this had been a Republican, then this story would be the leading headline on every news channel right now,’ she concluded.
