Ever since the Biden Administration created the “disinformation governance board” the American populous has become concerned about possible violations of free speech, and the Biden’s rabid desire to control narratives.
Never fear, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says that no rights will be infringed! This is likely not enough reassurance for concerned parties.
“This is a working group that takes best practices to make sure that in addressing disinformation that presents a threat to the homeland, our work does not infringe on free speech, does not infringe on civil rights, civil liberties. It’s not about speech, it’s about the connectivity to violence.” Mayorkas said.
The Secretary explains that the cartels are a major perpetrator of misinformation despite the administration doing virtually nothing to secure the southern border.
“We address disinformation that presents a security threat to the homeland. Disinformation from Russia, from China, from Iran, from the cartels. The cartels spread misinformation that Title 42 does not apply to the Haitians, and that prompts, potentially, Haitians to try to come to the United States, and what do we do?”
This is especially concerning when the Democrat party labels virtually anything they disagree with “Russian disinformation.”
Press Secretary Jen Psaki for example previously labeled the now confirmed Hunter Biden laptop story as “Russian disinformation.”
The concern is that this board may impede everyday political dialogue based on arbitrary standards that determine what is true, and what is not remains perfectly valid.
