On Tuesday, Rep. Matt Gaetz requested that material from Hunter Biden’s laptop be entered into the Congressional Record.
The request was made during a House Judiciary hearing on oversight of the FBI’s Cyber Division.
The division’s assistant director, Bryan Vorndran, insisted he did not “have any information about the Hunter Biden laptop” when questioned by Gaetz.
After being asked where the laptop was, Vorndran told Gaetz “Sir, I’m not here to talk about the laptop. I’m here to talk about the FBI’s cyber program”. It is unclear if Vorndran has any involvement with the laptop.
When Gaetz revealed he had a hard drive and tried to enter it into the Congressional record, he was blocked by House Judiciary Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler.
After what Gaetz called a “consultation with majority staff,” Nadler changed his mind and allowed the hard drive to be entered into the record.
“I seek unanimous consent to enter into the record of this committee, content from, files from and copies from the Hunter Biden lapto,” Gaetz said. “Without objection,” Nadler responded.
Gaetz celebrated with a clip of the exchange on Twitter with the caption “SUBPOENA HUNTER BIDEN!”
It is unclear what exactly was included in the material entered into the record.
