Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has announced the discovery of an unprecedented scheme by the previous administration to allocate approximately $20 billion to left-leaning activist groups. In a recent statement, Zeldin revealed that these funds were transferred to an external financial institution during the final days of the Biden administration, with the intent of distributing the money to select organizations.

Zeldin emphasized that this maneuver was unprecedented in EPA history and was deliberately executed to expedite the allocation of funds with minimal oversight. He noted that the $20 billion was awarded to just eight entities, which were then responsible for disbursing the money to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other recipients at their discretion, resulting in significantly reduced transparency.

In response to these findings, Zeldin has contacted the U.S. Department of Justice and the EPA’s Inspector General to initiate investigations into the matter. He has called for the immediate termination of the financial agreement with the involved bank and the return of the funds to the government. Zeldin stated, “The days of irresponsibly shoveling boatloads of cash to far-Left activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equity are over.”

This revelation has prompted discussions about the oversight and allocation of substantial government funds, particularly in the context of environmental initiatives. The ongoing investigations are expected to shed more light on the processes and decisions that led to this significant financial commitment.
