Vice President Kamala Harris couldn’t handle the heat during a fiery interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Wednesday night, where she was grilled about the Biden administration’s disastrous handling of the border.

From the start, Harris struggled to keep her composure in the face of tough questions, clearly rattled as Baier pressed her on the administration’s policies. The tension peaked when Baier asked her how many illegal immigrants the Biden-Harris administration had released into the U.S. over the past three and a half years.

Instead of providing a straight answer, Harris dodged the question, prompting Baier to press her further. “Is it one million? Three million? Or more?” he asked. Harris continued to evade, leading Baier to cite statistics from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who stated that 85% of illegal immigrants caught at the border have been released into the U.S.

Visibly flustered, Harris snapped, “I’m not finished!”—a sign of how poorly the interview was going for her.

Baier fired back with more facts: “Roughly six million people have been released into the country since you took office.” He went on to point out that the Biden administration reversed Trump-era policies, such as the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, which required migrants to wait outside the U.S. while their cases were processed.

Baier pushed Harris further, noting that these reversals led to the release of many single adult males, some of whom went on to commit violent crimes. When asked if she regretted scrapping ‘Remain in Mexico,’ Harris once again dodged, trying to pivot to other topics.

Harris touted the administration’s efforts to pass the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021—a bill aimed at giving illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship—but Baier quickly shot that down, pointing out that despite Democrats controlling both the White House and Congress at the time, they never prioritized the bill.

This interview highlighted Harris’ inability to defend the administration’s border policies—policies that have led to chaos and left Americans less safe.
