Kamala Harris Loving the Limelight Over Genuine Tasks?

The Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, was spotted mingling with volunteers as she got ready to phone bank at the DNC headquarters on Election Day, 2024, in Washington. This feigned display of camaraderie elicits skepticism and raises questions about its authenticity

A recent executive order by President Donald Trump aimed at curtailing birthright citizenship has been the talk of the town. There’s rampant speculation suggesting that this could strip Harris of her US citizenship. However, rest assured this is not the case, as the impact of the Executive order will not befall vice president Kamala Harris.

Dispelling the misconceptions, Trump’s birthright executive order is not retroactively implemented. In practical terms, this means it will not alter the citizenship status of those born prior to its execution. Due to commence in action from Feb 19, 2025, the order conveniently bypasses the vice president.

Kamala Harris was born on Oct. 20, 1964, a fact conveniently brushed under the carpet by her detractors. While Trump’s executive order tickles the fancy of his political base, it is likewise a source of nationwide confusion and legal challenges.

By examining the specifics, we find that the order, forwarded hours post Trump’s second inauguration on Jan 20, is poised to deny citizenship to children born on the US soil with parents neither holding US citizenship nor being permanent residents. As expected, this order is meeting with fierce resistance and has been temporarily stalled.

It was a Seattle-based federal judge who, on Jan. 23, threw a proverbial wrench in the plans by temporarily halting this controversial order, describing it as ‘blatantly unconstitutional.’ Yet, Trump and his executive order march boldly on, undeterred by such setbacks.

It cannot be stressed enough that Trump’s order, even if effectively implemented, will not shake the foundations of Harris’ status as a US citizen. The Non-retroactive nature of the order serves well to underscore this point.

An integral part of the U.S. Constitution, the 14th Amendment firmly puts birthright citizenship in place, shielding it from such arbitrary actions. Numerous Supreme Court verdicts stand testament to this, cementing the fact that individuals born on U.S. soil are in the clear to claim U.S. citizenship. Trump’s order can be seen as a glaring attempt to subvert this long-standing principle.

In the case of Kamala Harris, she was born in October 1964 to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father. Not many are aware that Donald Harris, her father, had migrated to the US to study economics along with her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, who was seeking a doctorate in nutrition and endocrinology.

Both Kamala and her younger sister, Maya, were born during this period. At the time of Kamala Harris’ birth, interestingly, her mother was not a U.S citizen, as suggested by a 1965 temporary work visa approval.

The confusion amplifies when we delve deeper into the details of her father Donald Harris’ citizenship or residency status at the time of Kamala’s birth. Unfortunately, these details remain shrouded in mystery.

On the contrary, Kamala Harris’ birth certificate clearly confirms that she was born in Oakland, California. According to standard constitutional law, this in itself suffices to confer upon her the status of a US citizen.

A hypothetical scenario suggests that if both of Harris’ parents were on temporary visas and had Trump’s order been implemented 60 years ago, perhaps, just perhaps, Harris’ citizenship status could have been in a cloud of uncertainty. But, we dwell not in the realm of ‘if’s and ‘buts’.

As per clarified textual indications, the policy is only to be extended to those born within the US 30 days post the specific date of the order, Feb. 19. Dispelling further rumors, this information validates the argument that allegations about Harris’ citizenship stand no ground in reality.

Thus, we can clearly identify that any attempts to besmirch Harris’ citizenship status are patently false on all counts, another instance of unsourced claims scrambling for credibility.
