Jimmy Carter, 100, Casts Early Vote for Kamala Harris in Georgia

Former President Jimmy Carter

Early voting kicked off today in Georgia, and former President Jimmy Carter has reportedly cast his ballot for Vice President Kamala Harris, continuing his support for liberal candidates. Carter, who turned 100 on October 1st, has been in hospice care since February 2023. Despite his frail health, his grandson, Jason Carter, recently shared that the former president was determined to vote for Harris in the upcoming election.

This comes as no surprise to those familiar with Carter’s political history. Though once considered a moderate Democrat, Carter has spent much of his post-presidency promoting progressive causes and globalist policies, earning him praise from the left. His 2002 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded largely for his international work, often siding with global organizations rather than focusing on American interests.

Jason Carter also mentioned that the former president remains “interested in politics and the war in Gaza.” Yet, in June, the family had previously noted Carter was no longer awake every day and was “experiencing the world as best he can.”

While many Americans reflect on Carter’s presidency as a time of economic struggle and foreign policy weakness—culminating in the Iran hostage crisis—the media continues to spotlight his legacy with a softer tone. His vote for Harris aligns with his longtime support of the Democratic Party’s more left-leaning platform.

As the 2024 election season ramps up, it’s clear that Democrats, from Carter to Harris, are relying on a narrative that downplays the consequences of their policies while pushing for more of the same.
