Vice President JD Vance is making it clear that the Trump administration is not backing down on immigration enforcement—and it certainly isn’t seeking approval from the radical left. In a fiery interview on “Fox & Friends,” Vance hit back at Democrats who’ve criticized the recent deportation of illegal aliens with gang affiliations, calling their priorities “deeply misguided” and completely out of step with the concerns of everyday Americans.
“We do not ask permission from far-left Democrats before we deport illegal immigrants,” Vance said bluntly. “We do the American people’s business.”

The comment came in response to Democrat outrage over the deportation of an illegal alien who some claimed had no gang ties. But Vance set the record straight: in 2019, an immigration judge had already reviewed the case and found sufficient evidence to link the individual to the violent MS-13 gang. On top of that, the individual had a history of traffic violations and failed to appear in court.
“For Democrats to suddenly play defense for someone with that kind of background is absurd,” Vance added. “This is exactly the kind of person who should not be in our country.”
Vance didn’t stop there. He went on to expose the glaring double standard in how Democrats respond to crime—particularly when illegal aliens are involved. He pointed to the brutal murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, whose alleged killers were in the country illegally. Rather than focusing on the victim, Vance said, Democrats seemed more outraged about the legal process used to remove criminals from the U.S.
“Their outrage is not about Jocelyn. It’s about the murderer being deported,” he said. “That tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.”
The exchange reflects a broader, ongoing clash between the Trump administration and the progressive left over border security and immigration enforcement. President Trump and his team have made it clear that they intend to enforce the law vigorously, deport violent offenders, and restore order to a broken immigration system. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to push for open borders, sanctuary policies, and leniency—even when it puts American lives at risk.
Vance’s message was unambiguous: the administration will continue to deport individuals who pose a threat to public safety, regardless of how loudly the left objects.
“Americans are sick and tired of being told that their safety comes second,” he said. “Under President Trump, those days are over.”
With the 2025 election cycle heating up and immigration remaining one of the top issues among voters, the administration is drawing a hard line—one that prioritizes the rule of law and puts American families first. If Democrats want to defend criminals and gang members, Vance suggested, they’ll have to do so without expecting cooperation from a White House focused on law and order.
