A spokeswoman on behalf of the institution details his tenure with the medical school, stating, ‘Jay Varma had been in our full-time employment from September 2021 to August 2023, post which he retained an unpaid advisor role.’ This tenure has now been categorically terminated.
This disassociation is not due to any direct transgressions during his time at Weill Cornell Medicine, but is rather a preventative measure. The spokeswoman added, ‘We were not privy to any allegations of unethical conduct predating his joining us.
