Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump and former top aide to the 45th President secretly had thyroid cancer during his time serving the federal government.
Kushner will soon release a memoir detailing his fight against cancer, and the removal of throat tumors all the while hiding his condition from his father-in-law. The diagnosis came all the way back in October of 2019.
At this time, the United States was undergoing intense trade negotiations with China.
He recounted telling his wife Ivanka, daughter of the President “not to be concerned” after a White House doctor informed him that his test was positive for cancer.
Despite his attempts to hide his condition from Donald Trump, he recalled the President calling him into the Oval Office on the eve of the surgery. It was here that he asked Kushner “Are you nervous about the surgery?”
“How do you know about it?” He asked his father-in-law.
“I’m the president,” He replied. “I know everything. I understand that you want to keep these things quiet. I like to keep things like this to myself as well. You’ll be just fine. Don’t worry about anything with work. We have everything covered here.”
