Speculations regarding Adrian Dittmann, a well-known supporter of Elon Musk on social media, being a pseudonym used by Musk himself have resurfaced due to some emerging pieces of evidence associating them closely. Numerous internet users have started joining the dots after observing some recent activities involving Dittmann’s account on platform X and purported posts on 4Chan. They contend that certain left unsaid admin access rights and striking similarities with Musk’s distinguishable style of speech and gestures have added fuel to their suspicion.
A screenshot from a post by Musk was shared by Adrian Dittmann on 4chan. The mystery lies in that the displayed interface options propose that Dittmann is no ordinary user. The screen displayed at the bottom-right offered options such as ‘switch account,’ ‘bans,’ and ‘admin portal.’ Moreover, a link is seen under the image by Musk that reveals the full user engagement on the post— an insight that would normally be available to the original creator of the post exclusively.
This raises eyebrows and strengthens the claim that the account possibly belongs to someone more privileged than a usual X user. Despite these shreds of evidence, a representative from X refuted these claims. They asserted that the options of ‘bans’ and ‘admin portal’ portrayed in the screenshot do not mirror the actual interface available to X employees. They clarified that employees would generally have the same interface as ordinary users. The representative added, however, that an exception may be in case of novel features currently under testing for a broader launch.
The posts by this account, identified as Adrian Dittmann and hosted on 4chan’s /pol/ board acknowledged for far-right ideologies, have disappeared since. In addition to this evidence, another suspicion has arisen from a call that took place on X Spaces, which Dittmann attended. Other attendees have noted an uncanny resemblance between the voice of Dittmann and Musk, which made them question their identities.
The vocal likeness was not the first instance where their speech patterns were considered similar. Previous comparisons were made when Dittmann spoke in X Spaces chats where he frequently referred to Musk in a first-person way, raising many eyebrows. A particular incident where Musk and Dittmann directly engaged to dismiss these claims has also been pointed out.
What further stokes the curiosity is Dittmann’s zealous endorsement for Musk and the way he relates, further bolstering the theory that this could in fact be Musk. These rumors have been floating around for more than a year. To add to the intrigue, Musk’s daughter has also occasionally supported these rumors.
Though Dittmann has denied being Musk in the past, the number of follows on the X account has grown significantly, and instead of disputing the rumors, it appears to be playing along. These speculations gained more traction after a disagreement Musk had with anti-immigration Republicans regarding H-1B visa regulations occurred. This led to repartees where Musk was accused of censoring or freezing his opponents on X.
During this controversy, Dittmann’s role became more prominent as a peacemaker, and his 4chan posts predictably defended Musk’s moderation on X. Despite these numerous instances pointing towards the possibility of Musk disguising himself as Dittmann, evidence to seal the deal is yet to be presented.
Presently, clear evidence that verifies Musk being the individual operating the Dittmann account, a frequent respondent to Musk’s own posts and defender of his actions on X, is unavailable. If confirmed, this wouldn’t be the first time that Musk has discretely voiced his opinions through a masked account.
Conversely, if Dittmann is not an alternate ego of Musk, it implies the existence of a genuine Adrian Dittmann consistently supporting the SpaceX CEO on social media. Amid all these rumors, evidence and denials on one side, and the lack of any strong substantiation on the other, the identity of Adrian Dittmann continues to remain a mystery.
