Increase in Appy League Alumni Participation in ‘Spring Breakout’ Prospect Games

This year’s second annual ‘Spring Breakout’ prospect games, a part of Major League Baseball, will witness the participation of eighteen former athletes from the Appalachian League. This is a significant increase from the previous year, which saw nine Appy League alumni taking part in the showcase.

The Tampa Bay Rays are not lagging behind in sharing their talent with contributions from right-handed pitcher Paul Gervase and outfielder Homer Bush Jr., both from Bristol and Greeneville 2021. Their presence will be keenly observed by the game enthusiasts.

The representative lineup will be rounded out by the Washington Nationals’ right-handed pitcher Brendan Collins, who showcased his abilities in Burlington 2021, and outfielder Sam Petersen, a key player in Kingsport 2022. Their inclusion in the games poses interesting prospects for the Nationals.
