Hunter Biden Says He’s ‘48% Gay’ in Bizarre Podcast Interview
Hunter Biden raised eyebrows during a podcast appearance after declaring that he considers himself “48% gay” while discussing his sexuality and past relationships.
The former president’s son made the unusual remark during an interview on the “Shawn Ryan Show,” where the wide-ranging conversation touched on his personal life, addiction and years of controversy surrounding the Biden family.
“I’m 48% gay,” Hunter said during the discussion.
Host Shawn Ryan appeared surprised by the declaration and pressed Biden to explain exactly what he meant.
Hunter said he was speaking partly in jest, explaining that he does not believe sexuality necessarily fits neatly into rigid categories.
He went on to discuss his relationships with men and women and suggested that sexual attraction can exist along a spectrum rather than being entirely heterosexual or homosexual.

Hunter has been married twice. He married Kathleen Buhle in 1993, and the couple had three daughters before divorcing in 2017.

Hunter’s personal life became a major political issue during his father Joe Biden’s presidency after details involving his drug addiction, relationships and overseas business dealings emerged publicly.
The younger Biden has spoken extensively about his years of addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol, including in his memoir and numerous interviews.
His legal troubles also became a major controversy for the Biden administration. Hunter was convicted in 2024 on federal gun charges and later pleaded guilty to federal tax offenses.
Before leaving office, Joe Biden issued his son a sweeping presidential pardon covering federal offenses committed over an approximately 11-year period.
The decision generated significant criticism because the former president had repeatedly insisted publicly that he would not pardon Hunter.
Hunter has remained relatively outspoken since his father left the White House, appearing in interviews and discussing both his personal struggles and the political attacks directed at his family.
His latest appearance was no exception, with the “48% gay” declaration quickly emerging as one of the most unusual comments from the interview.
