The incident in question unfolded on a seemingly ordinary Monday morning, August 5, 2024, as members of the Mount Vernon Fire Department were directed to a location near the Oak Street Bridge following the reports of an emerging fire.
This specific location was straddling the jurisdictional boundary between Yonkers and Mount Vernon, posing an interesting challenge for the authorities involved. As the fire department officials reached the site, they encountered a peculiar scene – a shopping cart ablaze. The footage showed two unidentified men, carting what appeared to be the same shopping cart used for disposing the remains, boarding the Metro-North train, and later abandoning it at the mentioned Yonkers location.

Reports from various sources, including Pix 11, confirm that the victim has been identified as Lutalo Henderson, a 46-year old Bronx resident. The grim reality was that the remains found in the charred shopping cart were none other than Henderson’s torso and head.
