Harris Fails to Fathom Importance of Bipartisanship

Kamala Harris, the Vice President, leans further to the left compared to previous President Donald Trump. However, despite her more liberal stance, she has proved to be inept at fulfilling her progressive-minded pledges. She appears skilled in debating against her adversaries but shows minimal aptitude for building a bipartisan agreement on new laws.

Contrary to President Joe Biden, Harris will not reap the benefits of Senate control. The Republicans only need to secure a victory in the strongly conservative states of Montana and West Virginia. In comparison, Trump, even with his unconventional influence over the Republican party, managed to shift the party’s ideology to the left.

During Trump’s administration, there was an illusion of a more robust economy. This was primarily due to the actions of the Federal Reserve, which set unusually low interest rates. Trump expressed his disapproval when the Federal Reserve reduced the interest rates, stimulating the economy prior to the election. This puts into question who truly held the reins on the economy during Trump’s tenure.

Despite his complaints, the economic conditions inherited by Biden seem inflamed due to Trump’s previous policies. Rising prices are a natural outcome when there’s an overwhelming surge of money pursuing a fixed quantity of goods. The lingering shadow of inflation can be attributed to Biden only partially.

Conservatives are confronting the harsh truth that modifying laws can be ineffectual if societal attitudes remain unchanged. Giving constant validation to an individual like Trump, who openly reveled in debauchery and disregarded moral principles, can only amplify support for abortion.

Trump treated the pro-life movement as nothing more than a tool to advance his political agenda. His engagement was devoid of empathy towards the cause, stripping away its essence and its message of humanity. After extracting what he needed, he discarded it carelessly.

Interestingly, both Trump and Harris have showed an inclination towards selective law enforcement. Harris turned a blind eye towards the border crisis, rendering any repentance now suspect because of her opportunistic behavior. But it seems to align well with her party, which now advocates for stricter asylum policies and a physical deterrent at the border.

However, a more profound concern to our Constitutional republic is not Harris’s opportunism, but Trump’s outrageous disdain for the people’s vote. Matters related to voting fraud should be handled in courts. The Supreme Court’s verdict was unambiguous – Trump lost the election.

If the conservative Supreme Court’s ruling is dismissed, then its existence becomes irrelevant. If Trump genuinely believed the elections were compromised, he would refuse to participate in future elections. Yet his insistence on having the power to overthrow election results contradicts this.

Indeed, he wouldn’t make the absurd claim that only his election defeat was due to fraud while all other Republican defeats were attributable to ‘the abortion issue.’ If Republicans wish to curtail further losses, they should consider supporting an alternative candidate in place of Harris.

The Senate, the Supreme Court, and Harris’s own lack of ability will undoubtedly limit the extent of her liberal policies. However, a triumph for Trump could inspire a new generation of Republicans to mirror his controversial conduct, akin to how the last generation followed Reagan.

This new generation, molded in Trump’s image, would reject fiscal responsibility, shun concern for the unborn and their families, and disregard personal integrity and rule of law. Sometimes, to truly ensure the growth and blossoming of something, you need to prune it back first.

As the saying goes, ‘to every thing there is a season.’ As the political landscape is rapidly evolving, it is time for us to reflect, recalibrate, and reconsider our political affiliations based not on party lines, but on principle and pragmatic action.
