Fox News host Greg Gutfeld has labeled the media’s “lockstep anti-Trumpism” as one of the most destructive movements of the past decade, suggesting it rivals the impact of “wokism.”
In a detailed commentary shared on X (formerly Twitter), Gutfeld argued that the media’s unwavering opposition to President-elect Donald Trump led to the dismissal or denial of critical issues, resulting in significant societal consequences.
Crime
Gutfeld contended that acknowledging the role of progressive policies in escalating criminal activity would have been seen as aligning with Trump. To avoid this, he claimed, the media downplayed such connections, leading to increased theft, violence, and recidivism.
Immigration
He asserted that admitting the strains of unchecked illegal immigration on national systems, including the introduction of violent crime, was avoided to prevent siding with Trump. This reluctance, according to Gutfeld, allowed the situation to persist, resulting in loss of life.
COVID-19 Origins
Gutfeld criticized the media’s dismissal of the possibility that COVID-19 originated from a lab leak in China, suggesting that acknowledging this theory was avoided to prevent being associated with Trump’s stance. Instead, he noted, alternative explanations were entertained.
President Joe Biden’s Competence
He also highlighted the media’s portrayal of President Joe Biden’s fitness for office, suggesting that any critique was suppressed to avoid appearing supportive of Trump. This, Gutfeld argued, contributed to national instability.
Gutfeld concluded that this pervasive anti-Trump sentiment led to a “mass delusion” driven by bitterness and ego, bringing the country to a precarious state. He urged the public to recognize the media’s role in these developments, stating, “They caused this mess. We’ll clean it up. They no longer matter.”
This critique underscores ongoing debates about media bias and its influence on public perception and policy over the past decade.
the most destructive movement of the last ten years wasn’t just wokism. it was the media’s lockstep anti-trumpism. think about all the horrible decisions related to the biggest calamities we faced. they were excused or denied by the media, because of their irrational opposition…
