The purpose was the inauguration event of the latest Audubon Area Community Care Clinic, situated within the nonprofit organization’s premises. The primary aim is to bolster access to critical health and mental well-being services for the fragile sections of our society.
With a focus on supplying comprehensive, top-tier healthcare to those in need, the clinic is a symbol of hope for different demographics. This includes those of low income, individuals who are risk-prone and homeless, and persons who have recently achieved sobriety. The clinic also welcomes patients with conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis C, individuals striving to overcome addiction, refugees, and migrant laborers.
The new medical center will cater to the inhabitants of the shelter and the neighboring residential areas. This event marks the inauguration of the Audubon Area Community Care Clinic’s third primary physical establishment. Underscoring its widespread presence, this is also the AACCC’s premier facility to be positioned in Owensboro’s west end.

Recently, the AACCC made a significant announcement about its financial stand. The organization has been awarded a grant worth $275,000 by the Kentucky Association of Health Plans. This funding, spread over a three-year period, will be a massive boon in refashioning an existent area within the shelter.
The renovated space, aided by the grant, will be transformed into a clinical examination room. A significant feature of this room will be its ability to operate complete scale labs that form an essential part of any medical examination. Furthermore, there will be distinct sections for reception and patient triage, enhancing the efficiency of the facility.
The newly set-up clinic extends its services to patients possessing insurance and those without. Additionally, it adheres to a sliding fee structure, ensuring that healthcare remains accessible and affordable. This fee scale will be adjusted based on the household size and income of the patients.
The primary objective of this medical clinic is to dissipate the prevailing health care disparities, making healthcare more inclusive.
