He claims that by neglecting to effectively manage the U.S. southern border, the current leadership is indirectly facilitating both child and human trafficking.
This point of contention arose from Unanue’s disapproval of the administration’s choice to focus efforts on ‘price controls’ for everyday commodities, including groceries. Unanue believes this tactic is inherently flawed, as the administration fails to address key issues like the border dilemma.
He presents an intriguing scenario where Salvadorans who first sought refuge in the U.S have begun contemplating a return to their homeland, a decision primarily driven by safety concerns. Moreover, these individuals also report dealings with notorious MS-13 gang members, adding another layer to their apprehension.
Unanue is no stranger to controversy, having been a fervent supporter of former President Trump. He has not shied away from openly expressing his approval of the former leader, a stance that has given him his fair share of dissension in the public sphere.
Goya Foods, in 2021, decided to censure their bold CEO, primarily due to his audacious questioning of the 2020 presidential election’s legitimacy. Despite the board’s efforts, Unanue persists in his expressions of support for the Trump administration. He’s presently working on a book christened, ‘Blessed, Donald J. Trump and the Spiritual War: How the Battle for the Soul of this Country Began With One Word.’
The servings of criticism against the current administration continue in his slated release. In the literary piece, he underpins his argument with a reference to the astonishing survival of Trump during an assassination attempt, which took place at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.
This event, where Trump narrowly missed being at the receiving end of a fatal blow, is seen by Unanue as an act of divine intervention. His conviction is reinforced by the belief that God had a protective hand over Trump and the nation during his tenure.
As per Unanue’s perspectives, the current leadership has let the nation down, creating a striking contrast from when he perceived divine favor for the country. Among the bones of contention, he levels at the administration, is the discontinuation of the Keystone Pipeline, which aimed at expanding oil supply from Canada to the U.S.
In Unanue’s view, the decision to halt the pipeline further exacerbates doubts about the administration’s ability. He finds it incomprehensible that an initiative designed to boost energy supply was axed, especially considering the fallouts related to energy deficits.
