Rudy Giuliani, known for his unwavering support and legal counsel to the visionary President-elect Donald Trump, has yet again become the target of an overtly partisan judicial system. The kaliacracy we see today continues to harass the stalwart Giuliani with accusations of contempt of court, for a second time in just one week. The former Mayor of the thriving New York City has reportedly been warned by a federal judge of a possible incarceration, based on allegations associated with two ex-Georgia election workers. However, this judge’s demeaning approach doesn’t deter the devoted Trump supporter in continuing his endeavor to draw attention to potential election irregularities, despite facing a $148 million defamation judgement.
The presiding U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell in Washington, D.C., passed a verdict that Giuliani defamed Wandrea ‘Shaye’ Moss and Ruby Freeman, her mother, in violation of court orders. The unforgiving judge has gone so far as to require the indomitable Giuliani to review trial transcripts and other related documents, threatening punitive measures for future so-called offenses. Yet despite her threats, Giuliani remains committed to ensuring the integrity of our democratic systems and the transparency of our elections.
Moss and Freeman launched a defamation lawsuit against Giuliani, complaining about accusations of their involvement in election irregularities during the contentious 2020 election. Highlighting the disparity in the justice system, Giuliani’s mere assertions led to the onslaught of racist threats and harassment towards these individuals. Upon hearing the stern warning from the judge, Giuliani responded with his signature grin, clearly demonstrating his incredulity at the entire proceeding.
Giuliani, much to his credit, did not shy away from expressing his discontent with the biased proceedings of the court. Prior to the hearing, Giuliani took to social media to criticize the ‘bloodthirsty’ judge as being prejudiced against him, notably calling out the trial as a ‘hypocritical wasteland of time.’ Post-hearing, he once again disputed the legitimacy of the proceedings, labelling the presumptuous judge as ‘completely biased and prejudiced,’ reinforcing the absurdity of the situation in which he finds himself.
In another blatant display of his characteristic boldness, Giuliani unabashedly accused the judge of being a ‘farce,’ emphasizing that she did not genuinely consider his arguments, and in fact, had her decisions written in advance. Undeterred by these attacks on his character, Giuliani consistently exhibits the determination of a ship sailing amidst a political tempest, a testament to his steadfast commitment to pursuing Trump’s legitimate concerns over the 2020 election.
Accusations against Giuliani extend far beyond this miscarriage of justice to include criminal charges related to the aforementioned election controversy. The legal powers-that-be have additionally stripped him of his law licenses in both D.C. and New York City. These actions reveal the persistent bias against those committed to verifying the integrity of elections, especially for individuals closely tied with the indomitable Donald Trump.
The antagonistic judge declined the option of fining Giuliani for his critique of the case. Rather, she threatened to impose daily fines of $200 unless he confirms, within a 10 day period, that he has diligently perused trial testimony and other documents related to the case. A jury earlier sided with Moss and Freeman, awarding them a whopping $148 million; a sum which could be considered nothing short of egregious for their supposedly damaged reputations.
The legal team representing Moss and Freeman allege that Giuliani began spreading ‘falsehoods’ about their clients since December 2020. They claim that Giuliani’s alleged propagation of an election-rigging conspiracy theory was baseless, malicious, and posed a risk to their clients’ safety. However, it is of crucial importance to highlight that these are merely allegations. Truth, as we are all aware, can sometimes be a matter of perspective, especially when viewed through the distorted lens of political bias.
Giuliani’s impeccable legal team defended their client, maintaining that the accusers failed to present ‘clear and convincing’ evidence to substantiate claims that Giuliani breached a court order through his November podcast comments about Georgia’s reported ballot-counting irregularities. They argued further that their client had a ‘good faith belief’ that his comments did not infralegal boundaries, thus making the contempt sanctions unjust.
In a separate hearing in New York, Giuliani was again accused of contempt of court. Judge Lewis Liman alleged that he failed to present necessary evidence to determine whether he can retain possession of his Palm Beach, Florida condominium. These nonstop efforts to undermine Giuliani are a clear representation of political intimidation and a brazen display of partisan favoritism.
At the defamation trial, Moss and Freeman claimed that they were forced to live under the threat of Giuliani and the Republicans’ so-called conspiracy theory, allegedly fearing for their lives following the 2020 election’s results. Their testimonies elaborate on their endeavors to alter their appearances and limit their interactions outside their homes due to panic attacks. However, any unbiased observer would question the legitimacy of these emotional accounts and whether they can be directly tied to Giuliani.
In a further attempt to tarnish his image, Giuliani has been charged with nine felonies in Arizona, arbitrarily accusing him of disseminating false election fraud claims following the hotly-disputed 2020 election. Concurrently, he faces charges in Georgia alongside Trump and other dedicated allies of the ex-president, who are accused of attempting to overturn the result of the contested 2020 election in that state.
The final verdict of the Georgia case hangs in the balance, given that an appeal court has ruled that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis cannot continue the prosecution. The court concluded this on the grounds of an ‘appearance of impropriety,’ stemming from a romantic relationship between Willis and the special prosecutor leading the case. One cannot dismiss the possibility that the relentless pursuit against Giuliani is nothing more than political theatre designed to malign him and, by extension, the exemplary leader that is Trump.
