Collaborating with high-end silk brand Kumi Kookoon, she revealed a capsule bedding collection known as Kumi Koobuu. The launch was a bright reimagining of Kumi Kookoon’s renowned Los Angeles-style luxury, showcasing a six-piece collection filled with jewel-toned pieces.

Discovering a fervor for interior design, Willis describes it as being integral to her creative journey, just a step behind fashion. Over recent years, she dedicated her time and energy towards honing her tastes, only investing in brands and pieces that spark joy within her. This discerning approach drives her work as she collaborates with respected brands such as Kumi Kookoon.

Kumi Kookoon shared that Willis was a pivotal asset to the team when it came to developing the collection’s fresh palette – heller pink, lodi green, tangerine, and blood orange. These invigorating shades are in harmony with the trademark alluring charm that the brand is recognized for. It’s a perfect marriage of Willis’ bold style with the timeless elegance of the brand.

The highlight of the collection is its silk-filled throws, signifying opulence and comfort. Creating a complete luxury sleep experience, the collection also includes unique boudoir pillows with distinctive stitching, offered in five diverse hues. A fitted flat sheet, duvet cover, sleep mask, and hair tie, all crafted from the finest silk, complete the collection.

Accompanying the signature silk-filled throw is an extravagant interpretation of the French-pleated slipper, a testament to Kumi Kookoon’s attunement to their customer’s desire for comfort and luxury in every element of their daily life. A sleep mask and hair tie also form part of the collection, encapsulating the essence of a thorough silk sleep set.

Over the years, Kumi Kookoon has also gathered an impressive clientele. Luminaries like Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Leighton Meester, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Blake Lively have all been fans of the brand’s offerings.

Kumi Kookoon has garnered acclaim for its hypoallergenic products. Not just protective from molds and beneficial for hair health, they champion craftsmanship as each piece is hand-dyed by female artisans in China employing a time-honored technique.

Willis expressed a long-standing admiration for Kumi Kookoon. She has been a fan since childhood and lauded their commitment to their female-led brand ethos. Being an exclusive all-women setup, the company uniquely employs local female craftspeople for hand-dyeing each silk material in China.

The youngest daughter of a celebrity couple, divorced on amicable terms, Willis has often expressed her struggles with growing up in the limelight and its subsequent impact on her mental health. This venture into the world of design, however, marks another expansion into creative fields for her.

Before this partnership with Kumi Kookoon, Willis had embarked on a previous design project – launching the clothing label Wyllis in 2020. A unique part of this endeavor was its integration of mental health awareness, apparent in the hang tags which contained information about the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the National Alliance on Mental Illness Helpline.

The silky luxurious world of Kumi Kookoon was first introduced in Los Angeles in 2003, thanks to the vision of Jennifer Chang, a former associate at Deloitte & Touche. Initially, these sought-after silk products were available online and in retail stores like ABC Home & Carpet.

In 2012, Kumi Kookoon expanded its reach with the opening of its first store in the mainland Chinese port city of Dalian. Noticing a surge in demand from Chinese customers buying products during their U.S. visits or placing special mainland orders, they seized the opportunity to build a physical presence.

The Kumi Koobuu line, Willis’ splendid collaboration with Kumi Kookoon, can now be experienced by customers online. Pricing ranges from $193 for the silk pillow cases to $1,378 for the lavish silk-filled throws, offering a luxe touch to every night’s sleep.
