During a rousing speech at Donald Trump’s rally in Madison Square Garden, Elon Musk estimated he could cut at least $2 trillion in waste from the federal budget. Musk’s statements follow Trump’s announcement that he would place Musk at the helm of a new government efficiency commission aimed at tackling excessive spending.
“How much do you think we can rip out of this wasted $6.5 trillion Harris-Biden budget?” Musk was asked.
Musk responded confidently, “At least $2 trillion. Every dollar spent by the government is taxation, whether directly or through inflation. Your money is being wasted, and we’re going to change that.”
Emphasizing a return to individual freedom, Musk added, “We’re going to get the government off your back and out of your pocketbook.” He promised a prosperous future for the nation, concluding, “America is not just going to be great. America is going to reach heights it has never seen before.” The audience responded with a standing ovation, energized by Musk’s vision of a leaner, more efficient government.
