Notable entrepreneur and headline regular Elon Musk, apart from recent President-elect Donald Trump, is an industrious figure who is reshaping several industries – space exploration, autonomous electric vehicles, and the sphere of social media. Additionally, he recently stepped into a significant role as the Director of Government Efficiency in Trump’s forthcoming cabinet. Though Musk’s origin traces back to South Africa, he currently stays in Texas.
Musk has reportedly boosted his property portfolio last month with the purchase of a significant residence in Austin, which he shares with his large family. Alongside this, he procured adjacent properties for two women, both mothers to some of his children. Notably, Musk also resides in a quaint house in Boca Chica, a location synonymous with the SpaceX headquarters.
Out of his every venture, Musk’s family is as distinctive: he fathers 12 children from three partners. Tragically, his first-born, Nevada Alexander Musk, succumbed to sudden infant death syndrome in 2002, just 10 months after birth. Nevada was the son of Musk’s first wife.
Musk’s first marriage spanned eight years from 2000 to 2008, and Musk has five other children from this union. The couple utilized in vitro fertilization to bring into the world their kids: Vivian Jenna, Griffin, Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Vivan and Griffin, a pair of twins, were born in 2004, while triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian made their arrival two years later in 2006.
Moving forward, Musk had three more children with a well-known Canadian musician and record producer. Their union met with the birth of their son, X Æ ‘X’ A-Xii, in 2020 followed by a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, in 2021, both through surrogacy. Their third child, born in 2022 and also via surrogate, is Techno ‘Tau’ Mechanicus. However, details surrounding the youngest of this trio remain significantly less documented.
Interestingly, though Musk and the Canadian musician produced three children together, they never officially tied the knot. Their relationship was on and off between 2018 and 2021. Furthermore, Musk played a part in welcoming three more children into the world, this time with a project director at one of his enterprises.
The entrepreneur’s life met with the joy of twins once again, this time, a son, Strider and a daughter, Azure, joined the family in 2021. Fascinatingly, their birth happened just before the birth of Musk’s other child with the Canadian musician. Adding to the intrigue, the couple welcomed their third child earlier this year. Yet, details regarding the newborn’s name and gender are still not public.
Highlighting Musk’s appointment in Trump’s cabinet, it’s worth noting that cabinet members can have foreign birthplaces. U.S constitutional provisions for cabinet positions do not necessitate members to be natural-born citizens; rather, they should be U.S citizens, either from birth or through acquiring citizenship.
The key requirement, therefore, is solely U.S. citizenship, attained either naturally at birth or via the process of naturalization. This provision has historical precedents, with Madeleine Albright serving as an exemplar. Originally a naturalized citizen, she executed her duties as Secretary of State while working under President Bill Clinton.
