After a push in Virginia to do away with Dr. Seuss President Biden has decided to erase his name from “Read Across America Day”. Activists claim that Seuss wrote with “racial undertones” evidently “one fish two fish, red fish blue fish” was just one step too far.
During Obama’s time in office he praised Seuss. Claiming he was “one of America’s revered wordsmiths” who “used his incredible talent to instill in his most impressionable readers universal values we all hold”
Throughout history Dr. Seuss has been revered, similarly to Shakespeare, but recently cancel culture and or societies need to witch hunt history for its alleged flaws have come for both of them.
For many, Dr. Seuss books were among the most memorable from our childhoods. Our next generation may never get to enjoy this literature the way we did.
