Democrats’ Ridiculous Ploy: Wanting Biden to Step Down for Harris

The Democrats seem to be lost and floundering. Instead of focusing on creating new strategies after President-elect Donald Trump demonstrates dedication in forming his White House cabinet, they appear to be obsessed with finding ways to elevate Kamala Harris. They should heed the wisdom of Disney’s Elsa from ‘Frozen’ and just let it go. One particularly absurd suggestion is for Joe Biden to resign his presidency and let Harris tear through the traditions to become the 47th president before Trump comes in January – an overly ambitious goal.

This idea may somewhat undermine Trump’s merchandise market, but if the agenda is to pave a way forward for a party that lost the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, it gives an impression of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Biden should have stepped down in summer when the historical momentum and incumbency might have boosted Harris. Now, it would merely serve as a peculiar consolation gift, arguably not what America or Black women require.

There’s also a speculative proposal to bump Harris to the U.S. Supreme Court before Biden’s term concludes which seems to lack foresight. The enthusiasts of this notion propose a bizarre scheme: pressuring Justice Sonia Sotomayor, aged 70 and dealing with health challenges, into retirement. Under Trump’s tenure of only four years, he was successful in placing three justices into the court.

Biden, who demonstrated his own lack of interest in making way for others, seems unlikely to request Sotomayor to renounce her life tenure. This represents antiquated thinking on the part of Democrats. If they were so committed to preventing Trump from having another chance to assign someone to the court, they should have devised more effective plans and communication to obstruct his return to the White House.

But the harm is done. No amount of resignation games is likely to reverse it. These are not legitimate notions; they are more akin to internet memes while Trump is busy with actual tasks such as appointing his Cabinet. What Democrats needed from the moment electoral votes were tallied, was to start observing, forecasting, and planning for the future.

Gone should be the days of self-pity. Pointing fingers and crafty ideas need to be replaced with practicality. Kamala Harris may have put up a formidable fight, but she didn’t succeed. It’s over. It’s time for the Democrats to accept that harsh reality and move on.

Delusions of grandeur keep lurking in the minds of some Democrats who can’t seem to face the reality of the situation. Yet, they repetitively place Kamala Harris on an imaginary pedestal. Optimism is helpful, but unrealistic hope can lead to disappointment.

The proposal of pushing Biden to step aside is a clear desperation move. The concept appears to be less about advancing the party’s agenda and more about trying to foil Trump’s future plans. However, such a move only seems to reflect a defeatist approach rather than a real strategic move for the Democratic party.

The left’s vision of Harris occupying a seat in the Supreme Court only exudes desperation, not rational thinking. Trying to convince Justice Sotomayor to relinquish her position due to health problems seems crafty and not in line with the principles of fairness. They should have strategized better instead of resorting to such tactics.

Continuous finger-pointing and unfeasible solutions will not rectify the situation. These internet memes will not reinforce their political standing. Dissimilarly, Trump is displaying seriousness about his duties by forming his cabinet.

The Democrats have lost, and it’s high time to admit this fact and stop living in denial. The time has come for them to look for real solutions instead of keeping their heads in the clouds. Their focus should be on regrouping and planning for the future, not dwelling on past mistakes or losses.

Sticking with the old strategies will not yield any fruitful results. Possessing innovative ideas and proactive strategies is the need of the hour. Staying in the past is not going to help the Democrats in gaining any traction; they need to strive towards a progressive future.

Harris gave her best, but it was not enough to achieve a victory. Accepting failure is the first step towards improvement. Fantasy and wishful thinking cannot substitute for real-world action and strategy.

Now is the time for Democrats to shift their focus on constructive and realistic goals instead of clutching to implausible ideas. Losing elections is not the end of the world; it is, instead, an opportunity to assess, learn, improve, and strive better in the future. They must now let go of the past and look ahead to create a future that can benefit their party.
